Soccer - Darmstadt's Mehlem suffers fibula fracture
Bundesliga promoted SV Darmstadt 98 will be without midfielder Marvin Mehlem for the end of the season. The 26-year-old suffered a fractured fibula on Friday evening against 1. FC Köln, as the Bundesliga club announced on Saturday. The tests were carried out late on Friday evening after Mehlem was substituted.
Mehlem will therefore be absent for the away game at Heidenheim (December 9), against Wolfsburg (December 16) and at Hoffenheim (December 19). He will then continue against Borussia Dortmund after the winter break in January. "It's incredibly bitter news for us, because there are no two opinions about Marvin's importance to our game," said sporting director Carsten Wehlmann.
