- Darmstadt's Lidberg expresses gratitude towards the former Lily teammate, Isherwood.
A long-time acquaintance recently encouraged Isac Lidberg to check out SV Darmstadt 98, ultimately convincing him to join forces just a few days ago. This friend, Thomas Isherwood, has a solid history with the club, having been part of their "Lilies" for the past three years. Unfortunately, his contract wasn't renewed during the summer, leading him to search for a new team.
Isherwood couldn't help but sing Darmstadt's praises, Lidberg shared during a media round in the town. "He said the club's atmosphere is fantastic, and the locker room is filled with decent individuals. I'd adore my time here," Lidberg expressed. This glowing report was what ultimately persuaded him to move to Hesse.
Both Lidberg and Isherwood share roots in Stockholm and have a rich history together in the Swedish youth national teams. "Ishi is one of my closest pals," the 25-year-old confessed, citing former national player Mario Gomez as his long-term role model.
Lidberg mentioned that Isherwood spoke highly of SV Darmstadt 98's atmosphere and locker room, which inspired him to join the team in Hessen. During his time with the Swedish youth national teams, Lidberg and Isherwood formed a strong bond, with Isherwood being one of his closest friends.
