Transfer - Darmstadt 98 sign Papela from Mainz
The SV Darmstadt 98 has reinforced itself for the upcoming season in the 2. Football Bundesliga with Merveille Papela from FSV Mainz 05. The Hessians did not disclose any information about the contract duration on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Papela, who is transfer-free and joining Darmstadt, went through all the youth teams at Mainz. The midfielder played eleven Bundesliga games for the Rheinhessen in the previous season.
"He expands our options in the midfield, as he stands out for his high dynamism and ball win rate. With his tempo and quick decision-making, he will also be able to help us in pressing situations," explained Darmstadt's Sporting Director Paul Fernie the signing of Papela.
