At a recent event in Berlin, lead actor Daniel Bruhl (age 45) attended the German premiere of a new series about the late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. Born in Hamburg, Lagerfeld spent many years as the chief designer for Chanel and was synonymous with Parisian style and sophistication. He passed away in 2019. This six-part series focuses on Lagerfeld's early successes in Paris, such as serving as artistic director at the luxury brand Chloé.
The series depicts Lagerfeld's rivalry with Yves Saint Laurent, his collaboration with actress Marlene Dietrich, and his turbulent love affair with Jacques de Bascher - who was allegedly his only true love.
