- "Danger situation unclear" - Aachen main station briefly closed

Due to a potential hazard situation, the main station in Aachen was temporarily closed in the evening. The "unclear hazard situation" was reported around 7:30 PM via an anonymous phone call, according to the police. As a precaution, the area around the station was closed off. The situation was deemed safe again by 9:00 PM, though the cause remains unclear. Investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn reported minimal impact on train traffic. Trains scheduled to arrive at the station were held back from 8:00 PM to 8:50 PM during the closure. Train drivers and passengers already at the station had to wait outside.

The temporary closure of the main station led to rerouting of some trains using alternative railway lines. Informally, some stranded passengers shared stories of their unexpected detours and now-unconventional train journeys.
