Cologne Hosts Champion's League - Dane Damgaard risks not participating in SC Magdeburg's Final Four.
SC Magdeburg's defending title is in jeopardy as they prepare to face Aalborg HB in the Champions League Final Four. The German champions announced that they'll be without Michael Damgaard, their Danish backcourt player, who sustained an injury during the season finale against HSG Wetzlar. Damgaard, 34, will be out indefinitely after landing awkwardly following a jump shot. While doctors don't see the need for surgery at the moment, they'll opt for non-surgical treatment.
The injury leaves a big gap in the team coached by Bennet Wiegert, especially since Damgaard has been receiving less attention lately in the starting lineup. Luckily for Magdeburg, they still have a chance to prove themselves in the semi-finals of the King's Class this Saturday at 3:00 pm.
