Hohenloher Molkerei from Schwäbisch Hall is recalling "Gut&Günstig" UHT whole milk with 3.5% fat in 1-liter packs. Goods sold in individual Edeka and Marktkauf stores in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Saxony and Thuringia with the best-before date 27.03.2024 and the oval health mark DE BW 010 EG are affected, the company announced on Monday in response to an inquiry. "Bild" had previously reported on this.

During routine checks, microbiological contamination had been detected in individual cases. It could not be ruled out that the affected milk would become thick and sour and could cause health problems if consumed.

Consumers can return the product in question to their point of purchase for a refund, even without presenting the receipt.
