Daimler Truck is required to shell out millions due to instances of bullying in Brazil.

At a Daimler Truck facility in Brazil, particularly in Campinas, São Paulo, an allegation of systemic discrimination against employees has surfaced. The judicial authorities in São Paulo believe that employees who took sick leave have been subjected to "embarrassing" treatments. This scenario holds certain repercussions.

Based on a labor court ruling, the international automaker Daimler Truck has been ordered to pay approximately 6.7 million euros in reparations for the discrimination and mistreatment of its workers at its Brazilian plant.

The court alleged that individuals who sustained injuries in on-site work accidents encountered "humiliating and degrading moments," which included incidents of racial discrimination, upon their return to work.

Court documents disclosed that since 2004, the employees of Daimler Truck's primary parts distribution and logistics center outside of Germany, excluding Germany, experienced discrimination after falling ill or getting hurt on the job. Upon their return, they were purportedly isolated, even physically. The court records further claimed that these employees were considered an "abnormal group," and denied "advancement opportunities and wage increases."

The court dismissed Daimler Truck's argument that these incidents were isolated instances. Accepting the company's stance would be a "significant" regret for the labor rights advocates, it pointed out.

The court's ruling emphasized that the judgments made against the employees were unfair and contributed to their mistreatment. Furthermore, the company's failure to address these judgments effectively led to a persistent culture of discrimination.
