Soccer - Czechs move into European Championship quarters in Hamburg
The Czech national soccer team will be based in Hamburg during the 2024 European Championships. This was announced by the Czech association on Thursday. The team of Bundesliga stars Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen), Alex Kral (Union Berlin) and Vaclav Cerny (VfL Wolfsburg) will stay at the Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg in Alstertal during the European Championship tournament and train at the stadium of regional league club Eintracht Norderstedt.
The Czechs will also play two preliminary round matches in Group F at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion: on June 26 against Turkey and on June 22 against the winner of play-off Group C. That will be either Georgia, Luxembourg, Greece or Kazakhstan. The fourth team in the Czechs' European Championship group is Portugal.
