Cyclist hit by truck: now dead

A 26-year-old cyclist was critically injured last week when run over by a truck and died yesterday.

Two and a half weeks after a 26-year-old cyclist was critically injured in an accident in Berlin-Mitte, she died in the hospital yesterday afternoon. The young woman was run over by a truck on July 27, as reported by the police.

According to the police, a 42-year-old truck driver was turning from Karl-Liebknecht-Straße onto Mollstraße when the cyclist was riding straight ahead on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße towards Prenzlauer Allee. The 26-year-old sustained a pelvic fracture in the accident.

How many people have died in accidents this year?

Upon inquiry by the German Press Agency, the police reported that a total of 30 people have died in traffic accidents in Berlin this year, seven of whom were cyclists.

Despite the truck driver's attempts to avoid the accident, the cyclist sadly passed away due to her injuries from the accident. This unfortunate incident has brought the total number of cyclist deaths in traffic accidents in Berlin to eight this year.
