Kleiner Grasbrook - Cyclist dies in turning accident with truck
A 44-year-old female cyclist died at the scene of an accident involving a truck in the Hamburg district of Kleiner Grasbrook. The woman was attended to by emergency responders but ultimately succumbed to her injuries, a fire department spokesperson said on Monday in Hamburg.
Preliminary information indicates that the 44-year-old woman was riding her bike on Veddeler Damm in an unknown direction. At the same time, a truck heading out of the city turned from Veddeler Damm onto Am Windhukkai. The truck struck the cyclist for unknown reasons.
The truck driver was unharmed, and both the driver and other parties involved in the accident were provided with pastoral care by the emergency responders and crisis intervention team. The police deployed a 3D scanner and a drone for the accident investigation. Witnesses who observed the accident are asked to contact the police.
