Traffic - Curious accident: Driver trapped by her own car door
A 56-year-old driver was trapped and injured by the door of her own car in a parking lot in Steinen (Lörrach district) at night. According to police, the woman was driving towards the exit of the parking lot early Tuesday morning when a stranger opened the back door of her car. Because the man refused to be driven away verbally, the driver got out.
She probably forgot to put the gearshift of her car with automatic transmission into park. The car rolled on and hit a parked car with the open door. The 56-year-old was trapped by the closing driver's door. According to the police, the car rolled on without a driver and hit another parked car. There were initially no witnesses to the strange accident, according to a police spokesperson. However, the woman 's statements were plausible. She was not under the influence of alcohol.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The unknown man reportedly fled the scene.
