Mysterious food deliveries with hate messages: This case involving unidentified individuals has partially been resolved. Lieferando, a major delivery service, has enhanced its security and supervision systems, as the North Rhine-Westphalia Criminal Police Office (LKA) informed dpa upon request. This has almost stopped the fake orders.

Police in North Rhine-Westphalia are reviewing numerous cases where unknown parties ordered food for mosque communities while transmitting hateful messages through the attached note sections. By February, the full extent of this malicious speech's severity was revealed.

Lieferando, a significantly impacted delivery service, had previously termed this a new and completely unacceptable development. "We suspended the account, implemented additional measures, and supported the investigation," they stated at the time. Specialists from the LKA were also deployed.

The perpetrator or perpetrators' strategy remained consistent: An online food order was placed for a mosque community at its address. In the remarks field, the perpetrator or perpetrators expressed their right-wing animosity. Instances were reported in cities like Essen, Münster, and Gelsenkirchen, among others. In certain instances, no delivery was made because the messages were identified early on.
