Bundesliga 2 - Cup win out of the way: Lautern want to get back on track

After a successful debut and a place in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup, the new coach of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Dimitrios Grammozis, wants to get the second division club back on track in the league. The Palatinate side, without a win since the beginning of October, will welcome relegated Bundesliga side Hertha BSC to the Fritz Walter Stadium on Saturday (13:00/Sky).

"There were a lot of things we liked on Tuesday. We were pleased and it was also nice that we progressed," said Grammozis on Friday, but also emphasized: "But we have to put the cup game behind us."

After four defeats in a row, the aim is to finally secure their sixth win of the season in League Two. "The focus is now on the game against Hertha. We are now back in day-to-day business and know that we need points," said Grammozis. "We still have two opportunities to put ourselves in a better position for the second half of the season. We want to get three points for that."

Despite the English week, the new coach does not want to make any major changes to the starting eleven. "These are boys who train hard every day. They get to play soccer every day, there's nothing better," said Grammozis. "You should be able to put up with a week like this.

In the last home game of the year, the Red Devils can expect another big crowd at the Fritz Walter Stadium. A total of 44,593 tickets have been sold for the game against Berlin. Aaron Opoku is still in rehab and will not be available to FCK, Julian Niehues is ill and will also be absent.
