DVV Cup - Cup semi-final will be "no walk in the park" for BR Volleys

The Berlin Volleys ' goal is Mannheim. However, in order to reach the final of the German Volleyball Cup on March 3, the team first has to beat SVG Lüneburg at home in the semi-final on Wednesday (7.30 p.m.). "It will certainly not be a walk in the park for us," said Volleys Managing Director Kaweh Niroomand.

The standings of both teams in the Bundesliga promise a match at a high level: The BR Volleys are first, SVG Lüneburg is second. "Lüneburg have a good team that has continuously developed over the past few years," said Niroomand, paying tribute to their opponents.

The BR Volleys have won all 14 competitive games in the Max-Schmeling-Halle against the club from Heidestadt since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 2014. Last year's cup quarter-final between the two teams was highly dramatic. In a marathon tie-break, the volleys prevailed 27:25 in the end and went on to win the cup.

The hosts have three of their four middle blockers available again. Nehemiah Mote returned on Sunday from his short trip to Australia due to family matters. Timo Tammemaa will at least be back on the bench after suffering from calf problems. Only Tobias Krick is still suffering from the effects of a concussion and is out.
