Voting Process - CSU persists in delegating six MEPs to the European Parliament.
The Christian Social Union (CSU) in Bavaria has secured 39.7% of the votes, a drop of one point compared to five years ago. Stefan Koehler from the farmers' association in Unterfranken is going to be part of the European Parliament as a representative for the CSU. Manfred Weber, Angelika Niebler, Christian Doleschal, Monika Hohlmeier, and Markus Ferber have all served in the European Parliament for at least one election cycle.
Unfortunately, the Greens in Bavaria have not fared well enough to send any additional representatives to Brussels. Bavarian Social Democrats (SPD) will be represented by Maria Noichl alone. Petr Bystron, a controversial figure in the AfD, will be making his way to the European Parliament, but legal investigations against him for money laundering and bribery continue.
