People and Culture Dynamic - Crowd will determine "German Miss" titleholder.
For the first time, the public will play a role in selecting "Miss Germany." "The public will determine who Miss Germany is," stated Max Klemmer, the director of Miss Germany Studios, to the German Press Agency. "This hasn't happened before." The upcoming final is scheduled for February 22nd of the following year at Europa-Park in the southwestern German town of Rust.
In past years, bikini rounds were common during the "Miss Germany" competition. However, over the past five years, the focus has shifted towards the personalities of the contestants and their ability to accept responsibility. There is no longer a crown presented to the winner, but a sash still exists.
Women can now apply for the upcoming season in three categories: "Female Founder" (entrepreneurs), "Female Mover" (women in traditionally male-dominated fields), and "Female Leader" (leadership personalities). "This is geared towards the economic sphere," Klemmer explained. "There should be no more glass ceilings in the professional world."
Winners in each of the new categories will be chosen by juries during the final. The "Miss Germany" from the top three will then be elected by the public for the first time: "Voting will occur online through the internet," said Klemmer. The motto is clear: "Women can be whatever they aspire to be. They need role models for this."
The current "Miss Germany" is Berlin architect Apameh Schönauer. The Iranian-born young woman was selected by a jury consisting of moderator Neda Peemüller, entertainer Nicolas Puschmann, influencer Twenty4Tim, author Vivien Wulf, actress Sharon Battiste, and Jil Andert, the PR manager of the Miss Germany Studios in Oldenburg. Following a lengthy selection process, she was crowned in February 2022. The organizers revealed that around 15,000 women had applied for "Miss Germany 2024."
