SPD parliamentary group - Criticism of the Ministry of Agriculture's image campaign
The SPD parliamentary group has criticized the image campaign of the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Agriculture. According to SPD MP Marc Timmer, the benefits of the campaign, which cost around 300,000 euros, are not clear. It was not appropriate in view of the tight budget situation. "It would be better if the ministry were to be upgraded through good policy content. The campaign also still does not answer the question of what European policy the state government stands for. So the whole thing remains an expensive air number," criticized Timmer.
Agriculture Minister Werner Schwarz (CDU), who is also responsible for Europe and consumer protection, presented the campaign on Monday. It is intended to make the variety of tasks of the ministry, which was newly created in this electoral term, more visible. The aim of the campaign is to communicate politics in a contemporary way, which is about more than just providing information. "I want to build trust and explain what a modern agricultural, European and consumer protection policy and the creation of sustainable rural areas mean for the everyday lives of each and every one of us," Schwarz said.
In the coming year, the campaign will focus on the European elections, among other things. He wants to raise awareness of the importance of Europe for people's everyday lives, what influence they themselves can have on the future of Europe and why a strong and effective Europe is needed as a free and democratic alliance of member states.
