Auto burglars in Lower Saxony and Bremen swiped more costly rides last year than the year prior. This information was disclosed by the German Insurance Association (GDV). As per the association, 960 insured vehicles were nabbed in Lower Saxony, leading to an economic setback close to 22 million euros. "Insurance companies shelled out over 22,800 euros for each theft, a jump of around 14% compared to the preceding year," they stated.
In a countrywide analysis, Lower Saxony emerges as one of the safer territories for car owners. According to GDV's Kfz-Diebstahlreport, the state possesses just two thefts for every 10,000 insured vehicles, while the nationwide average is four. However, the value in Hannover, the state capital, is higher, with six thefts for every 10,000 insured vehicles.
In the tiniest state of Bremen, 110 insured vehicles were snatched last year, leading to an economic loss over 2.2 million euros. Insurance firms doled out an average of over 20,400 euros for each theft, a surge of around 52% compared to the previous year. Bremen's theft rate of four for every 10,000 vehicles matches the national average.
