A group of individuals is charged with failing to pay 8 million euros in wage taxes and social security contributions for those working in the construction industry. This intricate scheme, aided by a vast corporate network, comes to light during a trial in the Bielefeld District Court, starting at 9:30 am on Tuesday. The six suspects, ranging in age from 31-46 years old, allegedly used this complicated network to create new companies in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia while designating dummy directors to deceive tax authorities and social insurance agencies about their employees' identities and work. This misleading tactic could result in a hefty fine or up to five years in prison if found guilty.
