Soccer World Federation - Court rejects FIFA appeal against administrative fine
The Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court has dismissed an appeal by FIFA against a fine of 150,000 euros imposed by the Dortmund Regional Court. This was confirmed by an OLG spokesperson on Wednesday to the German Press Agency.
The background to the ordered payment is a legal dispute concerning planned restrictions for players' agents within the framework of the Football Agent Regulations (FFAR). In May, the regional court issued a ruling in favor of the agents in which it prohibited a declaration of submission demanded by FIFA. FIFA has lodged an appeal against this. The main case will be heard on January 24 next year.
The German Football Association had also been ordered by the Dortmund Regional Court to pay a fine of the same amount in connection with the player agent regulations. The DFB had announced an appeal against the decision. A decision by the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court is still pending.
