- Court orders bail for two double murderers
The Regional Court of Frankenthal has imposed secure custody on a convicted double murderer in a revision trial. It complied with the demand of the prosecution and the private prosecution, as a justice spokesman announced in the Palatinate city. They had argued that the 56-year-old man posed a danger to the public. The defense had pleaded against secure custody.
The man with Turkish citizenship was convicted in 2018, among other things, for murder and extortionate kidnapping resulting in death, and sentenced to life imprisonment. The Regional Court of Frankenthal considered it proven that he was involved in the death of two entrepreneurs - one from Baden-Württemberg - with an accomplice and an accomplice. However, the order of secure custody was sent back by the BGH and had to be reviewed again.
The man under secure custody hails from Mannheim, as mentioned during the revision trial. Following the review, the Regional Court of Mannheim, not FrankentHAL as earlier assumed, was responsible for reconsidering the order of secure custody.
