Environment - Court announces verdict in dispute over rainbow camp
In dispute at the Regenbogencamp in Prerow on the Darss, the Landgericht Stralsund will announce a verdict on Friday (9.30 am). The attempt at a peaceful resolution between the Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the long-term operator of the beach camping site failed. Both parties met on June 3rd before the 6th Civil Chamber.
The core of the proceedings is about the validity of the lease agreement, which the Land had terminated on December 31, 2023. The Regenbogen AG, which is based in Schönekirchen (Kreis Plön) in Schleswig-Holstein and has operated the site for approximately 30 years, opposes this. According to the company, the lease agreement is valid until 2042. This is contested by the Land. The proceedings concern a roughly 15 hectare area of the site, on which, among other things, sanitary buildings and power lines stand.
