Crime - Couple beats and insults police officers - three injured
A young couple in the Landkreis Kitzingen allegedly assaulted, insulted, and lightly injured multiple police officers during one night. The police reported this today, adding that at their residence on Friday, prescription medications were found on both individuals. An investigation is now being conducted against the 22-year-old man and his 23-year-old girlfriend for various acts of violence and violations of the Medicines Act and Stupefying and Narcotic Drugs Act.
First, the man reportedly offered youths medications at the wine festival in Rödesee in the evening before. A police patrol, alerted by his extremely aggressive behavior, handcuffed him. His girlfriend then kicked a police officer in the thigh. Both were subsequently released on the spot.
Approximately three hours later, police responded to a reported bike theft in Kitzingen and encountered the couple again. They allegedly insulted the police officers. The 22-year-old man is said to have struck a police officer repeatedly in the abdomen, while the woman attempted to strike one. The man was then taken to a holding cell.
During the ordered blood draw and release early in the morning, the man is said to have shown aggressive behavior. A judge extended his detention order. It was initially unclear whether he had been released again.
The young couple's aggressive behavior continued even in Lower Franconia's Kitzingen, where they allegedly insulted police officers during a reported bike theft incident. The 22-year-old man from the County of Kitzingen was arrested for repeatedly striking a police officer, and his girlfriend attempted to do the same. The incident took place UNDERFRONT, a popular nightlife spot in Bavaria. After their release, the man was later accused of displaying aggressive behavior during a scheduled blood draw and extension of his detention.
