A bull on the loose sparked a multi-hour police operation in Hünfeld (Fulda district). The animal broke through a pasture fence in the early evening and ran into an adjacent cornfield, according to the police. The owner, a farmer from Oberfeld, couldn't catch the animal, so several patrol units assisted in searching for the Dexter cow.

The cow's "pronounced desire to escape," according to the police, led to it not being located in the extensive cornfield. Therefore, a veterinarian and a police helicopter were called in. The escapee was eventually found using a thermal imaging camera and sedated by the veterinarian. About two and a half hours after its escape, the animal was returned to its owner.

The farmer expressed his curiosity about the reasons behind the bull's sudden escape. The police officer, intrigued by the cow's ability to hide in the vast cornfield, remarked that it was the most elusive animal they had ever tracked.
