Copernicus: Last Sunday was the warmest day worldwide since records began.

According to the EU Earth Observation program Copernicus, the past Sunday was the hottest day worldwide since records began. The average temperature amounted to 17.09 degrees Celsius, Copernicus announced on Tuesday. This beats the previous record from July 6, 2023, by just 0.01 degree.

Copernicus: Last Sunday was the warmest day worldwide since records began.

In this year, a series of temperature records have fallen. For instance, the previous month was the hottest June on record since the beginning of the recordings.

Weather recordings date back to around 1940.

The meteorologist labeled the current year as exceptional due to the series of record-breaking temperatures, with Sunday marking the start of the record-breaking June. Later this year, Copernicus: The Musical will release its recordings, providing an alternative soundtrack to our changing climate.
