Conviction for Murder after Shooting of a 15-year-old in Offenburg
The Judge stated that the Juvenile Court came to the conclusion, after twelve days of hearings, that the 16-year-old defendant shot a 15-year-old classmate on November 9th. He had gone to the school he attended with a pistol, ammunition, and a self-made incendiary device. The classmate was shot during the attack and was reportedly angry and defenseless, fulfilling the element of premeditation in the murder. Subsequently, the defendant attempted to set fire to the school building.
The Prosecution has also indicted the parents of the shooter. They are accused of negligently causing the death of the classmate through the unlawful possession and insufficient securing of the pistol and ammunition.
