Continued efforts to extinguish forest fire in Brocken's area

On Tuesday afternoon, it was arranged to put out the last remnants of the flares. Also scheduled was a drone mission. A wildfire ignited close to Kessel Cliff on Brocken on Friday afternoon, causing a massive firefighting effort.

Over the entire weekend, firefighters numbering in the hundreds, along with firefighting aircraft and helicopters, were in action. The Harz district announced on Sunday that the fire was "contained". The reason behind the fire still remained a mystery.

Despite the success in containing the forest fire, there's a concern about potential forest fires due to the dry conditions. involuntarily, the memory of the recent forest fires at Kessel Cliff, including the one on Friday, resurfaces.
