After routine check - Contaminated products: Marktkauf and Edeka recall milk
Hohenloher Molkerei has discovered microbiological contamination in a batch of whole UHT milk during a routine inspection. Affected is the "Gut & Günstig H-Vollmilch 3,5% Fett" in the one-liter pack with the best-before date 27.03.2024.
Edeka and Marktkauf withdraw milk from sale
According to the "Produktwarnung.eu" portal, the product was sold by Edeka and Marktkauf in Baden-Württemberg and northern Bavaria, as well as in stores in the neighboring federal states of Hesse, Saxony and Thuringia. The stores have now removed the affected products from the shelves and recalled them, writes the newspaper "Bild".
Consumption of the milk is strongly advised against. According to the report on"Produktwarnung.eu", it cannot be ruled out that the milk could become thick and sour and cause health problems. There is no more detailed information on possible health consequences. Customers who have bought the product can return the milk to the respective stores without any problems. The purchase price will be refunded even without a receipt.
According to"Bild", the dairy has already found the cause of the contamination and rectified it. The company apologizes to consumers for the inconvenience caused.
