In Karlsruhe, a digger partially destroyed an overhead electrical line designed for trams. Some parts of the wrecked line collided with a tram, but fortunately, no casualties were reported, as confirmed by local law enforcement. The tram line on Schiller Street is currently closed, but traffic has returned to normal elsewhere. The digger's shovel arm became tangled in the line during the unloading process from a semi-trailer. Estimated damages amount to approximately 25,000 euros.

The digger's mishap occurred near a nearby Railway station, causing temporary disruptions in train services. To prevent similar incidents in the future, the city council is considering implementing stricter regulations for heavy vehicle operations near the Tramway infrastructure.
