Water police - Constance investigators find stolen boats in Bulgaria

In the search for stolen boats, the water police from Constance have made a find during a joint European search in Bulgaria. In the process, 16 stolen pleasure craft and 32 outboard motors were seized, as the Baden-Württemberg State Office of Criminal Investigation and the Einsatz police headquarters announced on Friday. According to a spokesperson, the boats came from other European countries such as France and Sweden.

One particular investigative success was the seizure of a so-called rigid-hull inflatable boat with a 225 hp outboard motor worth almost 80,000 euros on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The boat had been stolen in France in the summer of 2022 and registered in Bulgaria with a new identity and professionally forged serial numbers.

A total of around 550 checks were carried out in October. The joint European tracing days are intended to help combat cross-border crime.
