Thunderstorm - Consequences of the storm: Several railroad lines closed
After a storm over Baden-Württemberg, several railway sections have been disrupted in various regions. DB Regio announced on Thursday evening via platform X that the section between Herbertingen (Sigmaringen district) and Aulendorf (Ravensburg district) is closed.
It is predicted that there will be no train traffic there until Saturday. The IRE 6 and trains RB 53, RB55, and RB91 are affected. A bus replacement service has been set up between Aulendorf and Herbertingen.
Furthermore, in the northeastern part of the country, on the section between Crailsheim and Schwaebisch Hall-Hessental, a tree has fallen onto the track. This section is therefore closed indefinitely. Delays and cancellations are likely. The DWD issued a thunderstorm warning for Thursday in the Stuttgart region and the Schwaebisch Hall district.
The S-Bahn Stuttgart announced in the evening that the track between Rohr and Boeblingen is currently only single-track due to a tree and branches in the track bed. "Expect delays and individual cancellations on the S1 as all trains are now only running on one track. Please check your journey online", it was stated.
Furthermore, no train traffic on S2 line between Grunbach and Schorndorf is possible, it was further stated. The reason is a power line fault. The power line is currently being investigated.
