His driving privileges will be suspended for six months, as per the authorities' decision, which was recently announced by the CDU. Occasionally, a fine might be issued instead of a conviction for minor transgressions.

Redmann openly discussed the situation back in July. He mentioned that he was heading back home from a night out with friends when the police requested a breathalyzer test. According to his tale, he had a blood alcohol content of approximately 1.3 promille at the time.

Redmann pleaded with the people of Brandenburg in July to evaluate him based on his political views and proposed solutions for the nation's future, rather than this regrettable incident.

The upcoming state elections for Brandenburg's parliament are scheduled for September 22. In the most recent surveys conducted in July and early August, the CDU was ranked second or third, sharing the position with the SPD and trailing behind the AfD.

The CDU, being a major political party in Brandenburg, expressed concern about Redmann's situation due to its impact on their public image. Despite the regrettable incident, the CDU continued its campaign for the upcoming state elections in Brandenburg, striving to maintain its position in the polls.
