Federal President - Concert with Steinmeier is recorded in the Black Forest

The traditional television Christmas concert with the Federal President will be recorded on Monday (6 p.m.) in the Black Forest community of St. Peter. According to ZDF, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender are expected in the parish church of the climatic health resort in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. State Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) will also be among the guests, as announced by his ministry.

According to ZDF, the program will be broadcast on Christmas Eve. It will be hosted by Johannes B. Kerner.

"Christmas with the Federal President" has been an integral part of the musical Christmas Eve on ZDF for years. The program was launched in 1995 on the initiative of the then Federal President Roman Herzog and his wife Christiane.

Since the premiere in Dießen, Bavaria, the incumbent Federal Presidents have visited a different federal state every year. Last year, Steinmeier and Büdenbender were guests at St. Nikolai's Church in Flensburg in the far north of the country.
