Concerns about the financial situation of outpatient care services

In view of the strained financial situation of numerous outpatient care services according to surveys, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chamber of Nursing sees an urgent need for action. The actual costs of the services must be appropriately remunerated, said the president of the chamber, Markus Mai, on Monday in Mainz. "Ultimately, the tables must be turned and invoices must be paid promptly in confidence," demanded Mai. Then longer inspection times at the care insurance companies would not be to the disadvantage of the service providers. It is important to stabilize the economic situation of care services.

Mai referred to surveys conducted by Diakonie Deutschland and Pflegegesellschaft Rheinland-Pfalz. According to these, the financial situation of outpatient care services is extremely tense, which entails considerable risks for comprehensive care, Mai emphasized. The results of the surveys therefore highlighted the urgent need for stabilization measures.

For example, 188 outpatient services took part in the survey conducted by the Rhineland-Palatinate Care Society. According to the company, 108 of these had considerable financial problems. Of the 42 participating semi-inpatient facilities, 24 saw significant economic problems, and 106 of the 176 participating fully inpatient facilities.

The financial struggles of outpatient nursing professions, as revealed in surveys conducted by Diakonie Deutschland and Pflegegesellschaft Rheinland-Pfalz, necessitate immediate action. Markus Mai, the president of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chamber of Nursing, advocates for the prompt and confidential payment of invoices to alleviate the prolonged inspection times at care insurance companies, ultimately improving the financial situation of nursing professions in outpatient care services.
