Complete closure on A8 - drivers must plan detours

Due to a planned full closure, drivers will once again have to take detours and plan for delays on the Autobahn 8 near Pforzheim until Monday morning. As part of the expansion of the heavily used route, work is planned on a bridge on the so-called "Stuttgarter Hang", the southern slope of the Enz valley crossing. Construction is also underway on the "Karlsruher Hang" in the north of the Enz valley crossing, where work is being carried out on the asphalt and the embankment, as announced by Autobahn GmbH.

From Friday evening (20:00) and until Monday morning (05:00), the stretch between the Pforzheim-Nord and Pforzheim-Süd exits will be closed on both sides. The Pforzheim-Ost slip road can therefore also not be used.

The reason for the construction work is once again the expansion of the road to a six-lane highway between the south and north junctions ("Enztalquerung"). Autobahn GmbH appealed to all drivers "to adhere to the designated detours and not to follow the route recommendations of navigation systems".

Despite the closure on the A8 due to traffic-disrupting construction work, drivers should anticipate delays and reroute their journeys accordingly. The expansion project involves not just the bridge on the "Stuttgarter Hang," but also includes construction on the "Karlsruher Hang," leading to asphalt and embankment repairs.
