Complete closure on A8 after truck accident
An accident involving a truck on the highway 8 in the direction of Munich has caused a full closure. According to police reports, a truck skidded between the Bad Aibling and Irschenberg junctions early on Saturday morning, crashed into the crash barrier and came to rest on the road. The driver was uninjured in the accident, a police spokesperson said.
The A8 was temporarily closed in the direction of Munich around the scene of the accident. The recovery work could take several more hours, it said. A detour was set up at the Bad Aibling junction. However, one lane of the A8 will be reopened shortly.
The closure on the A8 due to the truck accident has resulted in heavy traffic in Upper Bavaria. This is not the first time such accidents have occurred on this busy German highway.
