- Commencing the week with cloud cover and potential storms.

Sun Shuns, Rain Rules, and Tempests Roar: The sun typically plays hide-and-seek on the concluding day of the week for folks in Bavaria. Instead, they should brace for an extended wet spell, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). The forecast suggests incessant rain, primarily for the Alps and their surrounding regions, with the remainder of Bavaria expected to experience vast cloud cover and rainshowers.

DWD issues severe thunderstorm alerts in two administrative zones

During the daylight hours, DWD anticipates thunderstorms with torrential rain up to 20 liters per square meter per hour. In certain areas, intense thunderstorms packing 40 liters of relentless rain showers could occur. Earlier in the day, DWD issued a thunderstorm warning for Swabia and Upper Bavaria.

The upcoming week in selected Bavaria regions:In Franconia, you'll find a blend of sunny spells and clouds. In the Upper Palatinate, expect predominantly cloudy skies with occasional dry intervals. Contrastingly, Southern Bavaria will be smothered in showers until mid-afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25 degrees.

The German Weather Service (DWD) has also warned about potential flooding due to the heavy rain, urging residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions. Despite the challenging weather conditions, DWD encourages outdoor enthusiasts to check the forecast before heading to the Alps, as there might be brief respite periods suitable for hiking or skiing.
