- Commencement of fresh homicide trial following drug theft allegations
A hearing for accused individuals in a murder case linked to a heroin theft is scheduled for Monday at 9:00 AM. The three suspects are under scrutiny for conspiracy to commit murder, robbery leading to death, breaching the Narcotics Law, and causing severe bodily harm, as per the indictment. The trio is alleged to have forced their way into an apartment in Giessen on February 28, 2022, at night. The three individuals hailing from Georgia are believed to have physically assaulted the two inhabitants of the apartment. One of the victims reportedly succumbed to the injuries resulting from the attack.
Previously, the Giessen Regional Court had listened to the case in the spring of the preceding year. Subsequently, the Federal Court of Justice revoked the verdict and ordered a retrial in a different division of the Giessen Regional Court.
The accused in the heroin theft-related murder case will appear before the The Court of First Instance on Monday at 9:00 AM, as directed by the retrial order from the Federal Court of Justice. The original verdict in this case was previously overturned by the Giessen Regional Court, leading to the need for a new trial.
