Commencing construction at the Bowling Alley's former location in Leipzig, work on transforming it into a Museum of Natural History is underway. An estimated four years and substantial financial resources are earmarked for the site's overhaul.

In Leipzig, the groundbreaking for the new Natural History Museum has commenced. The municipality revealed that the projected expenses will approximate 100 million euros. Majority of the museum's construction will occur underground in the previous Bowlingtreff sports facility. The plans indicate a coverage of approximately 8,200 square meters. Subject to approximately four years for completion, the museum's opening is projected for 2029.

As it stands now, the construction is projected to cost 95.6 million euros. The city attributes this sum to a buffer accounted for potential inflation in construction costs. The Free State of Saxony will fund 95% of the museum construction's expenses.

The new Natural History Museum in Leipzig will showcase various aspects of the natural world, given its focus on nature. The construction of this museum is being predominantly funded by the Free State of Saxony, recognizing its significance.
