Uniquely Echoing Marathon: The Central German Evangelical Church (EKM) is organizing a distinctive marathon to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the "Evangelical Hymn Book". Various brass bands will alternate playing over 500 hymns from the book on Satuday, as declared by EKM. According to Steffen Pospischil from EKM's brass ensemble, "By the close of summer, you'll be serenaded with Advent and Christmas tunes, alongside Passion and Easter melodies, in a grand concert."

The performances will take place in two segments. From 8:00 to 14:00 in Aschersleben, at the Orangerie in Bestehorn Park, and then from 14:00 to 20:00 in Jena at the Stadtkirche am Markt. A live YouTube stream is also being planned.

The year 1524 is recognized as the inception year of the church hymn book: The "Achtliederbuch" was unveiled in Nuremberg, and the "Enchiridion" in Erfurt.

The distinctive marathon organized by the Central German Evangelical Church (EKM) is not only happening in Aschersleben and Jena, but it also has historical significance as it takes place in the heart of Central Germany, where the "Achtliederbuch" was first published in 1524 in Nuremberg.

Aschersleben, one of the two cities hosting the marathon events, is located in Central Germany, known for its rich history and cultural heritage.
