Travel and Visit Industry - Come summer, Rostock's beaches will offer a complete program for visitors.

The beaches in Rostock are geared up and ready for the upcoming season, hosting a range of activities including music concerts, sporting events, and beach bars. Matthias Fromm, director of the Rostock & Warnemünde Tourism Center, expressed his excitement at Warnemünde Beach, saying, "The summer can come!"

Restaurants such as Wal Bistro now offer a 'seagull police', replacing customers' food if seagulls steal it. This service is supported by an insurance company. The FSV Warnemünde beach sees 25 events from the Warnemünde Teapot, previously known as the SportBeachArena, where they have bleachers accommodating 360 to 1,300 seats. These bleachers will be put to good use during the German Beach Soccer Championship from August 16 to 18 where semi-finals, finals, and matches for third place will take place.

Restoration work was conducted on the beach to ensure it's ready for summer, involving moving back 25,000 tons of sand, repairing beach groins, and re-sanding dunes. The Wal Beach Bar has set up a public viewing of the European Football Championship on a large screen, accommodating around 2,000 spectators. The opening match between Germany and Scotland takes place on June 14th.

Fromm believes that tourists now want more than just sun, beaches, and sea, highlighting the significance of offering entertainment. Twenty-three beach attendants are present at Rostock's beaches providing a wide range of activities from bars to beach chair rentals, to surfing, kite, and stand-up paddling schools. A total of 2,200 beach chairs are available. Though crowded in places like the lighthouse and the Teapot in Warnemünde, beaches in the eastern part of the Warnow estuary like Seebad Markgrafenheide offer a more relaxed atmosphere.

Felix Eck and Martin Schwerin have set up a new beach bar named Seayou at Seebad Markgrafenheide's entrance. Seayou has 20 beach chairs and aims to create a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere with a two-square-meter chalkboard for kids, free beach toys, and a large swing. More information about the beach offerings is available at the Tourism Center, the only thing needed to make it complete is good weather.
