Bundesliga - Cologne's Mark Uth not yet a candidate for the starting eleven

After a long injury break, attacking player Mark Uth still has to wait for his first start for 1. FC Köln. This is completely normal after a 14-month break, said FC coach Steffen Baumgart. "Mark fights every week and needs to improve his fitness. The point is that he should play more and more for longer because he is extremely important for us," said Baumgart. The 32-year-old will therefore not be in the starting line-up for the game in Freiburg on Sunday (15:30/DAZN). "He's more of a candidate to come in at the end. That will also be the case in the next two games. I assume that he will have the opportunity to play from the start again in January," said the Cologne coach.

Despite the long injury break, Mark Uth's return to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Köln's starting eleven is not imminent. His fitness levels are still being improved, as stated by coach Steffen Baumgart. Given his importance to the team, Baumgart hopes Uth will play for longer periods as he gets back into form. As a result, Uth is more likely to come off the bench in the upcoming games in Freiburg and beyond, with a potential start in January. Given his injury break, Soccer in Germany's top league, the Bundesliga, will see Mark Uth play for Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia, not as an immediate starter, but a significant reinforcement as the season progresses.
