The Cologne Sharks have signed Swedish defenseman Adam Almquist. The club from the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) announced on Friday that the 33-year-old has signed a one-year contract. "Adam is a smart, mobile player who can open up our game from the back and makes good decisions with the puck," said Sharks sports director Matthias Baldys. Almquist won the Swedish championship with Jonkoping in 2010 and 2017, and the Swiss championship with SC Bern in 2019. Last season, he played 36 games for DEL rivals EHC Red Bull Munich.

The Cologne Sharks' new signing, Adam Almquist, has an impressive resume, having won the Swedish championship twice with Jonkoping in 2010 and 2017. After a stint with EHC Red Bull Munich, the Cologne sharks' shark-like defenseman is now ready to make waves in the DEL.
