Accidents - Collision between car and streetcar - two injured
In a collision between a tram and a car, several people were injured, including a child. According to the police, a 42-year-old driver crossed the railroad tracks and failed to notice the tram while leaving a parking lot in the Treptow-Köpenick district in the east of the city yesterday evening.
The man reportedly broke his collarbone in the collision. His eight-year-old son sustained an ear laceration. His three-year-old daughter remained unharmed. The 62-year-old tram driver suffered a shock. All parties involved were taken to a hospital for ambulance and preventive treatment in a rescue vehicle. The traffic of BVG-Line 61 was halted for approximately one hour.
The streets in the Treptow-Köpenick district were filled with police cars following the tram and car collision. Yesterday's accident had led to an increase in traffic congestion in Berlin. Other motorists should be cautious to avoid similar accidents, as there have been a series of collision incidents in the city lately.
