Accidents - Collision after overtaking attempt on the A9
Two people were injured in a rear-end collision caused by an overtaking attempt on the Autobahn 9 in the district of Bayreuth. According to initial findings, a car had switched from the middle lane to the left lane near Spänfleck (Bayreuth district) in the direction of Munich in order to overtake another vehicle. A vehicle that was already traveling at high speed in the left lane hit the car. According to the spokesperson, the right-hand lane remained passable.
According to initial police reports, one woman was taken to hospital with moderate injuries. How seriously the second person was injured was initially unclear, as was the exact cause of the accident and the amount of damage.
