Accidents - Collision after overtaking attempt on A9: people injured
Three people were injured in a rear-end collision caused by an overtaking attempt on the Autobahn 9 in the Bayreuth district. According to initial findings, a car had switched from the middle lane to the left lane between Bayreuth and Trockau in the direction of Munich in order to overtake another vehicle. A police spokesman reported that a vehicle that was already traveling at high speed in the left lane hit the car.
As the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) later reported, the four occupants of the two cars had already left the vehicles when the emergency services arrived. Two people were taken to hospital with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries. A BRK spokesperson reported that one occupant had escaped the accident with a scare.
