Accident - Collided with truck without braking: 55-year-old seriously injured
A 55-year-old female driver hit a truck on the A4 near Gera without braking and was seriously injured. According to initial findings, the driver had overlooked the stationary truck, as the police reported on Monday evening.
The truck had stopped in the right-hand lane due to the end of a traffic jam in the direction of Frankfurt. The woman's car was thrown across the entire lane to the left by the force of the impact on Monday afternoon and came to a standstill on the central crash barrier. The driver was freed from the vehicle by the fire department using technical equipment. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The A4 in the direction of Frankfurt was fully closed for almost three hours.
