The officials have yet to reveal which exact samples they collected. As they are currently probing in all directions, it might be best not to mention specific measures to avoid creating unnecessary doubts.

The district office reported that they attended to 21 visitors of the German Alpine Club's hut, dealing with severe stomach-intestinal issues; out of which, seven were hospitalized.

The hut is owned by the Munich branch of the German Alpine Club "Turner-Alpine-Kränzchen" and is available for rent. The website of the hut states, "We cannot accommodate day visitors or overnight guests. We eagerly await your return."

The first cases of illness were brought to light by a club member approximately 7 days ago. Subsequently, the hut was shut down for a while. When the lab tests on water samples produced no results, it was reopened. Nonetheless, more instances occurred, prompting the hut's closure until the cause is identified.

Approximately a thousand day visitors frequent the hut during desirable weather conditions, perched at an altitude of approximately 1700 meters above the Spitzingsee. Additionally, it serves as a destination for mountain bikers and climbers targeting the Ruchenkopfe as their objective.
