- Close proximity forest blaze put out near Tropical Isle
That forest blaze ignited on a Wednesday in the vicinity of the "Tropical Islands" relaxation spot in southern Brandenburg, ultimately getting put out. The fire department representative confirmed the operation's conclusion in the late evening hours. Previously, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) had reported on the situation.
In the afternoon, the fire prompted a significant response from firefighters, with approximately 120 personnel being dispatched. The fire department representative stated that three hectares of forest were impacted. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. At first, the fire department couldn't pinpoint the blaze's origin. The blaze's source was situated in the Dahme-Spreewald district, close to the leisure park.
As of today, Brandenburg faces high to very high forest fire risk in nearly all districts. Districts like Prignitz, Ostprignitz-Ruppin, Havelland, Potsdam-Mittelmark, and Oder-Spree have the highest warning level 5, as the state environmental ministry reported.
The significant response to the forest blaze consisted of over 120 firefighters engaged in firefighting efforts. Despite the size of the fire, no injuries were reported due to effective firefighting measures.
